Beliefs

What we believe

God

We believe in God, the creator of the universe, who spoke all things into existence in a literal 6 days, including the earth and everything on it (Gen 1:1). He is all knowing, all powerful, and ever present, dwelling outside of space and time. God is love (1 John 4:8) and cares for His creation.

We believe the one God exists eternally in 3 persons as the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each with distinct roles and yet inseparable in identity and being.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God wrapped in humanity and existing from the beginning (John 1:1) fully God and fully man, sent to earth to be born of a virgin (Luke 1:26-35) to die on the cross to pay the sin debt of mankind.

Jesus Christ lived a physical life on earth without sin and died a physical and painful death on the cross, was buried in a tomb and rose again on the third day. His shed blood was the payment for the penalty of all of humanity’s sin and the debt has been fully paid, “it is finished”(John 19:30), once and for all.

Man and sin

We believe God created mankind in His own image. He created them male and female by forming Adam out of the dust of the ground and breathing life into him, and afterwards, God formed Eve from Adam’s rib.

We believe God desired a perfect relationship with His creation and all things were perfect until mankind allowed sin to enter the world through personal rebellion against our Creator. This sin nature is passed down through all of humanity from the first man, Adam, and all of humanity is sinful (Rom 3:23). This sin separates man from God and requires a perfect sacrifice to pay the penalty of sin, which is death (Rom 6:23).

We believe in the inability of mankind to provide the payment for sin which brings in the gift of Grace (Eph 2:8-9) given by God the Father by sending His Son, Jesus Christ. This gift is given without merit of the believer (Rom 5:8) to all who choose to believe in Him (John 3:16).

The Bible

We believe God gives us His instructions and understanding through His scripture which is the Bible. The Bible is God’s literal Word, written by man, inspired by God, and is inerrant and infallible in its original authorship. It is given to mankind and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness to equip us for every good work (2 Tim 3:16).

salvation

We believe that anyone who believes in Jesus Christ and accepts the free gift of salvation is adopted as sons and daughters into the family of God (2 Cor 6:18) and are eternally secure in the hands of the Father (John 10 28-29).

Believers are saved unto good works (Eph 2:10). This is not to receive or maintain salvation but to live in the salvation that Christ died to give us (James 2:18) by living a life of obedience described in God’s Word (James 1:22).

We believe every believer is charged to not only live a life worthy of the Good News (Gospel) of Jesus Christ (Phil 1:27) but also to be intentional to share that Good News with the world and to make disciples of all nations (Matt 28:19-20).
