Who Are we?
We are...
…the Martins.
In 2015 God moved our family of 5 to the nation of Malawi to serve at a small orphanage, and He used that time of our lives to connect us to the people of Malawi in a way that changed our lives forever.
For the last 5 years we have lived in the wonderful NE Texas town of Paris, complete with its own Texas version of an Eiffel Tower, while I (Casey) served on staff at East Paris Baptist Church. During our time here Bonnie has earned her BSN in nursing, our kids have grown (a lot), and Corbin has left for college (Gig ’em, Aggies), but our love and connection with Malawi has never faltered.
We love that God has given us an opportunity to help provide for the people of Malawi and can’t wait for you to join us!
Why we do what we do
In Romans chapter 12, the Apostle Paul tells us to use our gifts with genuine love, to not pretend to love, but to “REALLY” love.
1 John 3:17-18 asks “how can God’s love be in us” if we see someone in need but show no compassion. We are called to love not with words or speech but with actions. In addition, the book of James makes it clear that we should not only read the bible and talk about the bible, we should “Do what it says.” (1:22)
For us, this means to not only love the people of Malawi by talking about them, but to love them by doing something that helps them.
Our Mission
Our purpose for Twelve 9 Ministries is to be a refuge to the children of Malawi.
Our desire is to provide a safe place that not only offers a high standard of Christian education but will envelope them in a Christian environment that can lead them to the loving arms of Christ.
Twelve 9 Ministries will build and operate a Christian school in Ntcheu, Malawi focused on providing a quality education, physical wellness, and a path for a better future.
The most important thing about Christian education is that it changes lives. It helps build character in students, it gives young people the foundation they need to build strong marriages and families, and the ability to live lives pleasing to God.
Our Vision
We desire our students to see everything through the light of scripture by integrating the Bible into every aspect of the learning process.
In doing so, we desire to use this platform to encourage our students to understand that Christ is our true refuge (Psalm 46:1), that all things are “created through Him and for Him” (Col 1:16) and that He desires a personal relationship with them.
